Designs for Products Including Yakgwa Recognized in Communication Category
Samlip announced on the 10th that three of its works won the main prize (Winner) in the Communication category at the iF Design Award (International Forum Design Award).
The iF Design Award is an international design competition that started in Hanover, Germany in 1954. Along with Germany's Red Dot Design Award and the United States' IDEA, it is considered one of the world's top three design awards. This year's award received over 11,000 entries from 66 countries across 9 categories and 82 fields, and the winners were selected by 131 judges.
Among the designs submitted by Samlip, "Project:H" and "Samlip Yakgwa" were selected in the branding category. "Project:H" is a low-sugar bakery brand that expresses its brand philosophy of pursuing a healthy lifestyle and eco-friendliness through simple design and materials, and has established systematic branding with a color label system. "Samlip Yakgwa," rebranded to expand traditional snacks into K-desserts, was developed with an illustration design featuring a round shape and a texture resembling honey droplets.
In the typography category, the "Creamy White Font" won an award. This typeface was developed to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the classic cream bread, incorporating fun elements and modern sensibility. It is characterized by shapes resembling the softness of whipped cream and by connecting the final consonants in a single line to create a rhythmic flow.
A Samlip representative said, "We are pleased that three of our entries won awards at this globally prestigious design competition," adding, "We will continue to strive to develop designs that approach customers in a friendly manner."
