Jeonnam Governor Kim Youngrok: "Disappointment and Anger Over President Yoon's Release"

Kim Youngrok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, expressed his "outrage" at the news of President Yoon Sukyeol's release.

On the 8th, Governor Kim stated through his social networking service (SNS), "Today, I attended the National Rally for the End of Insurrection and the Dismissal of Yoon Sukyeol, organized by the five opposition parties, and returned by train," adding, "The release of the ringleader of the insurrection, Yoon Sukyeol, leaves me with nothing but emptiness and anger," strongly criticizing the decision.

He continued, "The release of Yoon Sukyeol is a disaster caused by legal maneuvering that goes against common sense and due process," and added, "While his subordinates remain in prison, the ringleader who orchestrated the illegal martial law and insurrection has been released. The public is left speechless by the dazzling judicial show put on by legal technicians."

He further stated, "The substantive truth and justice regarding unconstitutional and illegal acts have been lost, and now the tail is wagging the dog," and expressed his discomfort with the court's decision by saying, "I cannot understand why the court's ruling to change the calculation of detention periods from days to hours had to be applied for the first time to the cancellation of the detention of Yoon Sukyeol, the ringleader of the insurrection."

Governor Kim emphasized, "The Constitutional Court must quickly uphold the impeachment (dismissal of President Yoon Sukyeol)."
