Mayor Baek said, “We will proactively use Pocheon City’s contingency funds to repair damages such as broken house windows,” adding, “As early as today, three companies will take action by region.”
He also explained, “We are considering providing disaster relief funds to the affected areas and will do our best to ensure prompt support.”
He further stated that he has proposed the government declare the area a special disaster zone to facilitate accident recovery at the national level.
Additionally, Mayor Baek demanded the consolidation of the three shooting ranges located in Pocheon?Seungjin Training Ground, Rodriguez Training Ground, and Darakdae Shooting Range?into a single integrated facility. He emphasized the need for the government to designate Pocheon as a ‘National Defense Industrial Complex’ as compensation for the damages suffered by Pocheon citizens over the past 70 years, including this recent accident.
He said, “Before comprehensive compensation, we have taken preemptive support measures to help affected residents quickly return to their daily lives. We will do our utmost in accident recovery and damage restoration support.”
Meanwhile, on the morning of the 7th, Pocheon City deployed a damage investigation team of 72 public officials to the site. The investigation team is organized into groups of four, consisting of two public officials along with military, police, and fire personnel, conducting surveys on human and material damages.
Moreover, they are thoroughly ensuring damage recovery by implementing one-on-one matching for accident victims, conducting detailed safety inspections of buildings, operating a resident damage reception center, providing temporary housing and relief supplies for displaced persons, and offering emergency welfare support.
