On the 7th, the Presidential Office held an emergency meeting of senior secretaries to discuss countermeasures following the decision to cancel the detention of President Yoon Seok-yeol.
According to the Presidential Office, the meeting is being held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Jeong Jin-seok, with senior officials gathered.
The Presidential Office is reportedly discussing future response directions, including reports, in the event that President Yoon is released and returns to the Hannam-dong residence.
However, the Presidential Office has not yet issued an official stance on the cancellation of President Yoon's detention.
President Yoon was detained and indicted on January 26 on charges of conspiring with former Minister of National Defense Kim Yong-hyun and others to declare martial law, deploy armed martial law troops to the National Assembly, and incite a riot aimed at disrupting the constitutional order.
However, the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 25 (Presiding Judge Ji Gwi-yeon) accepted President Yoon's request to cancel the detention, stating that the detention was unjustified.
