RS Automation Unveils Smart Tuning Control Platform at 'Hannover Messe 2025'

RS Automation announced on the 7th that it will unveil its smart tuning control platform, developed as a national project, for the first time at 'Hannover Messe 2025' (hereinafter Hannover Messe 2025).

RS Automation Unveils Smart Tuning Control Platform at 'Hannover Messe 2025'

'Hannover Messe 2025' is the world's largest industrial innovation exhibition, held for six days starting on the 30th of this month (local time).

RS Automation was selected for the 'World Class 300 National Project' in 2017 and conducted a research project titled 'Robot Motion Control Solution for Flexible Response of Smart Machines and Collaborative Robots' together with Professor Jo Dong-il's research team at Seoul National University. The technology applies artificial intelligence (AI) to robot motion and smart factory tuning. The core is to enable robots to learn in advance what they need to do, allowing them to recognize the required force and precision beforehand.

The company invested approximately 9 billion KRW over five years and succeeded in developing the world's first nonlinear (Non Linear) and AI-based control software. With excellent performance that automatically executes vibration detection, load measurement, and optimal control, it received final development approval from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in 2023. RS Automation equips this technology in the drives of its automation systems and robots, supplying them to domestic and international companies such as Samsung Electronics.

RS Automation is pursuing a plan to expand the supply of this technology beyond just its own products, offering it as a smart tuning control platform in the growing global robot motion control market. The company has already filed two domestic patents for the core technology and is proceeding with overseas patent registrations. It is also discussing related partnerships with global collaborators such as Rockwell Automation in the United States and the global robotics company Schneider Electric.

Meanwhile, around the same time as Hannover Messe 2025, on April 1 and 2, at the Hannover Convention Center in Germany, the Ministry of Industry and Resources will host the Eureka Global Innovation Summit and the Korea-Europe Innovation Forum, where Jo Dong-il, CSO (Chief Scientific Officer) of RS Automation, will present on the smart tuning control platform. Jo Dong-il CSO is an emeritus professor at Seoul National University and is recognized as a world-renowned expert in the field of control robotics. In 2023, he was elected president of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) and is serving a three-year term until 2026.
