Gyeonggi Province is expanding its promotion of Pyeongtaek Port.
On the 7th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it is operating the Pyeongtaek Port Promotion Center to provide an overview of Pyeongtaek Port from its inception to the present, in order to increase understanding and interest in Pyeongtaek Port.
The Pyeongtaek Port Promotion Center is built over three floors. The first-floor exhibition hall displays materials related to Pyeongtaek Port overall, allowing visitors to see the history and import-export trends of Pyeongtaek Port all in one place.
The second floor is a place where visitors can experience Pyeongtaek Port. Through a machine that miniaturizes crane operations, visitors can receive a mascot doll named Arari as a prize. There is also a photo zone and a space where visitors can directly experience the size of containers.
The third floor houses a video room and an observatory, where visitors can indirectly experience Pyeongtaek Port through high-definition videos and enjoy a panoramic view of the port from the observatory.
Gyeonggi Province also offers small souvenirs through a stamp tour linked with the Pyeongtaek Port Promotion Center, which includes visits to the port guide boat and the Marine Center.
Kim Ki-beom, Director of the Gyeonggi Province Railroad, Port, and Logistics Bureau, said, "We hope that the youth, the future generation, will experience the import-export sites of Pyeongtaek Port, the logistics hub of Northeast Asia, and the vast West Sea, nurturing big dreams of becoming global trade leaders."
The Pyeongtaek Port Promotion Center is open for viewing from Tuesday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and is closed on legal holidays. For group visits, tours with a docent (professional guide) are available by prior reservation.
