The Gwangju City Council announced on the 6th that it held an on-site communication meeting with companies located in the Bitgreen National Industrial Complex on the 5th.
The meeting was attended by Chairperson Shin Sujeong, Chair of the Industrial Construction Committee Park Pilsun, council members Kim Yongim, Park Sugi, Lim Miran, Chair of the Environment and Welfare Committee Choi Jihyun, Yang Oyul, President of the Bitgreen Industrial Complex Tenants' Association and its members, representatives from the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, Gwangju City, and the Gwangju Free Economic Zone Authority, totaling about 30 participants.
The meeting was organized to listen to the difficulties faced by tenant companies in their business operations and to create a more business-friendly environment. The tenant companies raised issues such as the improvement of safe roads and surrounding environments, expansion of transportation and convenience facilities, and support for industrial complex management.
The tenant companies, in particular, expressed concerns about being excluded from local government support projects due to the dual administrative districts (Gwangju City-Hampyeong County) and the potential damages from the selection of a candidate site for a metropolitan resource recovery facility. They also requested the early opening of sports facilities and a labor-management co-growth support center.
Chairperson Shin stated, "We have reached this point because we failed to properly address the inconveniences faced by tenant companies after the completion of the Bitgreen Industrial Complex," and added, "We will actively convey the opinions of the tenant companies so that Gwangju can provide a better business environment."
Park Pilsun, Chair of the Industrial Construction Committee, said, "We will make efforts to thoroughly discuss the valuable opinions of the tenant companies with relevant departments so that solutions can be established," and added, "Through the Industrial Complex Committee, which will be established by enacting an ordinance to vitalize the industrial complex, we will systematically and continuously promote the activation of the complex."
Meanwhile, this meeting was held as part of a livelihood tour to practice the '3-Min Council Spirit' announced at the opening of the first temporary session of the Gwangju City Council this year, and such efforts will continue in the future.
