Kim Jungo, a former preliminary candidate who competed in the Democratic Party primary for the Damyang County mayoral by-election in Jeonnam, has officially declared his support for fellow candidate Lee Jaejong.

As the Democratic Party primary enters its final stage, with Kim Yongju and former National Assembly member Yoon Youngdeok previously announcing their support, Kim Jungo's endorsement further expands the so-called "mainstream momentum" for Lee Jaejong.

On the morning of the 6th, Kim Jungo visited Lee Jaejong's campaign office to express his support, stating, "After much deliberation on who can truly take responsibility for Damyang, I have concluded that Lee Jaejong is the most suitable candidate to lead change and development in Damyang." He emphasized, "I hope that a young and capable county mayor will bring about real change together with the residents." He added, "Now is the time to move beyond competition and unite our efforts toward the greater goal of Damyang's development."

In particular, Kim sent a text message to his supporters saying, "For the development of Damyang and the happiness of its residents, I have decided to support Lee Jaejong. From now on, I will do my utmost to ensure his victory."

In response to Kim Jungo's endorsement, Lee Jaejong stated, "Your support and encouragement are a great source of strength, but at the same time, I feel a tremendous sense of responsibility. I will do my best to meet the expectations of the residents."

Lee further expressed his determination, saying, "Reflecting the aspirations of the residents and the long-held wishes for Damyang's development championed by Kim Jungo, I will concretize tailored pledges for each town and township to bring about real change."
