"Let's Make the Long-Awaited Garorim Bay Marine Bridge a Reality for All Residents"

Residents of Taean County in South Chungcheong Province have united to ensure the successful implementation of the 'Garorim Bay Marine Bridge' project, which will connect the isolated Iwon-myeon in Taean County and Daesan-eup in Seosan City.

According to Taean County, on the 5th, more than 300 people, including County Mayor Ko Saero, Co-Chairman Kim Wondae, the county council chairperson, provincial and county council members, project committee members, and residents, attended the 'Garorim Bay Marine Bridge Construction Countywide Promotion Committee Inaugural Ceremony' held at the county office auditorium.

The ceremony included a progress report, an introduction and promotional video of the countywide promotion committee, followed by an address from Mayor Ko Saero and a greeting from Co-Chairman Kim Wondae. The event reached its peak with the reading of a resolution to achieve the construction of the marine bridge and the chanting of slogans by the attendees.

Co-Chairman Kim Wondae stated, "Now that the long-cherished wish of Taean residents for the Garorim Bay Marine Bridge is finally within reach, it is time to show our determination," adding, "I hope the Mandae Bridge connecting Iwon and Daesan will definitely be built, creating a meaningful turning point for regional development."

This inaugural ceremony was held to convey the determination of Taean residents for the construction of the Garorim Bay Marine Bridge, a '50-year aspiration of the county.' Residents have held several meetings and collaborated to form the committee, and with this ceremony, they announced the strong beginning of their journey.

The committee consists of a total of 103 members, including Co-Chairs Ko Saero (County Mayor) and Kim Wondae, Senior Vice-Chair Jeon Changgyun, an advisory group (8 members), a consulting group (14 members), vice-chairs (19 members), secretariat (5 members), and promotion committee members (54 members). The committee plans to continue diverse promotional activities, such as launching a '40,000 Resident Signature Campaign,' to ensure the successful construction of the Garorim Bay Marine Bridge.

Mayor Ko Saero said, "We will move forward with strength, using the will of the residents as our driving force to connect the disconnected roads and bring new hope," adding, "I will do my utmost to make the long-cherished dream of Taean residents for the marine bridge construction come true this time."

Meanwhile, the Garorim Bay Marine Bridge project was included in the '6th National Road and Local Road Construction Plan Preliminary Feasibility Study' requested by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to the Ministry of Economy and Finance in January.

If the economic feasibility analysis (B/C) from the preliminary feasibility study meets government standards, the project is expected to be included in the government's '6th National Road and Local Road Construction Five-Year Plan' scheduled for the end of this year.
