Buan-gun Cultural Foundation Recruiting Participants for 'Dadeumi Nanta Expert Course'

Training from the 24th to May 21
Ten new instructors to be trained

The Buan County Cultural Foundation announced on the 6th that it is recruiting participants for the "Dadeumi Nanta Expert Training Program."

Through the "Buan Dream Stage," a community-based arts activation project from 2023 to 2024, the Buan County Cultural Foundation has formed a community of 120 local residents based on various arts such as Dadeumi Nanta, theater, and choir.

Dadeumi Nanta is an art genre that allows anyone to participate in artistic activities at any time with just a dadeumi (traditional laundry bat) and a stick. It is especially popular among program participants because even seniors with limited mobility can enjoy it while seated.

Taking advantage of the rapidly aging population in the Buan region, the Buan County Cultural Foundation plans to train 10 new instructors to expand specialized community arts based on Dadeumi Nanta.

The recruitment is open to local residents who are Nanta or pungmul (traditional percussion) artists, or those who have experience with Nanta programs. The application period is open until the 14th, and participants will be selected through a first-round document screening and a second-round interview.

The training period runs from the 24th to May 21, with classes held every Monday and Wednesday from 7 PM to 9 PM, totaling 17 sessions. Those who complete the Dadeumi Nanta expert training will be guaranteed job opportunities as "2025 Buan Dream Stage Dadeumi Nanta New Instructors" through an internal evaluation.

A representative of the Buan County Cultural Foundation stated, "Through this Dadeumi Nanta expert training course, we hope to nurture local artists. We encourage anyone who is ready to join as a member of the local community arts group to apply."
