Yeongdeok-gun and Ulleung Cruise Sign Mutual Cooperation Agreement for 'Citizen Benefits'

Special Ulleungdo Travel Packages Tailored for Yeongdeok Residents
Discounted Fares and Unique Benefits Offered Through Agreement with Ulleung Cruise

Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, signed a business agreement with Ulleung Cruise on the 4th to promote mutual cooperation and co-prosperity, providing a way for Yeongdeok residents to enjoy trips to Ulleungdo more economically and comfortably.

According to this agreement, Ulleung Cruise will provide △ a 20% discount on weekday and off-season ferry fares △ cooperation in the use of convenience facilities such as transportation and accommodation △ development of representative specialized products for Ulleungdo △ customized training and education programs for Yeongdeok residents visiting Ulleungdo.


Subsequently, Yeongdeok-gun will cooperate in promoting Ulleung Cruise and collaborate with Ulleung Cruise during education and training for Yeongdeok residents.


In particular, through this agreement, a special Ulleungdo travel package will be offered to Yeongdeok residents until the end of March for 130,000 KRW, allowing a 1-night, 2-day trip to Ulleungdo. Additionally, to promote Yeongdeok snow crab, a tourist course will be developed where Ulleung Cruise passengers can stop by Ganggu Port to taste Yeongdeok snow crab. These special benefits for Yeongdeok residents aim to actively cooperate in revitalizing local tourism.


Joo Hyun-deok, CEO of Ulleung Cruise, said, “To repay Yeongdeok-gun and the council for their active interest and consideration in the development of Ulleung Cruise, we will provide the best travel service when Yeongdeok residents visit Ulleungdo.”


County Governor Kim Kwang-yeol explained the historical relationship between Ulleungdo and Chuksan Port, encouraging, “Let us recognize the historical and cultural values of the two regions anew through this agreement and strive to develop tourism products that allow mutual prosperity so that both organizations can further develop.”


Ulleung Cruise is a passenger ferry company operating between Pohang Yeongilman Port and Ulleungdo Sadong Port, running the 20,000-ton ferry ‘New Sea Dao Pearl’ daily on a round trip basis.


The New Sea Dao Pearl has all cabins designed as bedrooms, and as a large passenger ship, it reduces worries about seasickness and cancellations caused by waves and storms, allowing for a comfortable trip to Ulleungdo.
