Iksan City Launches 'Eco-friendly Agricultural Products Package' Support Program for Pregnant Women

Support for Organic Agricultural, Livestock, and Marine Products

Iksan City in North Jeolla Province is accepting applications for the 'Eco-friendly Agricultural Products Package Support Program for Pregnant Women' until the 31st.


According to the city on the 6th, the Eco-friendly Agricultural Products Package Support Program was launched to promote the health of future generations and to encourage the consumption of eco-friendly agricultural products. Under this program, pregnant women can receive packages containing fruits, vegetables, livestock products, and more, by paying 20% of the cost (96,000 KRW) within an annual limit of 480,000 KRW.

The supported items include pesticide-free agricultural products, processed foods made from pesticide-free ingredients, organic agricultural, livestock, and marine products, processed organic foods, and animal welfare-certified products. Products certified as antibiotic-free livestock, such as Korean beef, pork, and fertilized eggs, are also included.


Eligible applicants are those who reside in Iksan City and are either currently pregnant or have given birth after January 1, 2024. The program is expected to support 390 people.


Those wishing to apply can visit their local Eup, Myeon, or Dong Administrative Welfare Center by the 31st, or apply online via Ecoemall from the 14th to the 31st.


Applicants must submit an application form, a copy of their resident registration, and documents proving pregnancy or childbirth, such as a pregnancy confirmation certificate or a maternity handbook.


A city official said, "By supplying eco-friendly agricultural products to pregnant women, we expect to realize social values such as the health of mothers and babies and environmental conservation, and to contribute to the revitalization of eco-friendly agriculture."
