Early-stage specialized venture capital (VC) Kakao Ventures announced on the 6th that it will hold a beauty seminar for cosmetics brand stakeholders in Myeongdong on the 8th, in collaboration with beauty branding agency Wooz Studio.
The seminar was organized to discuss the perspectives of investors on K-beauty brands and the success formula for early indie brands from various angles. The event will feature lectures and networking sessions with investment analysts and beauty branding experts. About 50 beauty brand representatives, practitioners, and investors are expected to attend.
First, Hye-won Ahn, a senior investment analyst at Kakao Ventures responsible for information technology (IT) service investments, will open the seminar with a presentation titled "Investment 101 from a VC's Perspective." Amid record-high cosmetics export figures last year, the discussion will focus on how early indie brands should understand and utilize investment capital.
Following this, Seo-young Choi, CEO of Wooz Studio, will present on "Branding Methods for Small Brands." CEO Choi previously served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the vegan beauty brand Arencia and as a brand manager at CJ Olive Young. Currently leading Wooz Studio, she collaborates with various brands. Based on her deep understanding of the industry value chain?from beauty brand strategy development to product planning, development, and distribution?she will share the growth formula for brands.
Details about this seminar will be available later this month on Kakao Ventures' official YouTube and Brunch channels.
CEO Seo-young Choi stated, "At a time when beauty brands are becoming more than just products and are establishing themselves as experiences and values, we will continue to create meaningful opportunities for the growth and development of K-beauty. I hope this event will be a place where beauty brand stakeholders share practical insights and where more beauty brands build their own unique identities."
.
Senior investment analyst Hye-won Ahn said, "Although beauty brands are advancing beyond the domestic market to the global stage, information asymmetry between early indie brands and investment capital still exists. I look forward to a seminar where stakeholders in the beauty ecosystem gather to share rich perspectives and create a growing ecosystem together."
