WSI "EasyMediBot, Medical Robot Patent Application Completed in Europe Following the US"

WSI announced on the 6th that its subsidiary Easy Medi Bot has filed a patent application in Europe for the world's first robot uterine elevator 'U-BOT', following the United States.

The patent filed this time pertains to the technology of a 'uterine elevator, a uterine elevator robot including the same, and a uterine elevator system including the same.' With this, Easy Medi Bot has filed a total of four patents, two each in the US and Europe.

Easy Medi Bot developed U-BOT in collaboration with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Seoul National University Hospital and the research team at Korea Aerospace University through the Ministry of Health and Welfare's 'Micro Medical Robot Commercialization Technology Development Project' research task in 2021. The company completed development in 2023 and obtained a domestic patent for U-BOT.

U-BOT is an assist robot that supports gynecological laparoscopic surgery by automating the uterine elevation task, improving surgical efficiency and medical staff convenience. Easy Medi Bot is currently undergoing product approval and quality management certification from the Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA).

A WSI official stated, "After product commercialization and registration are completed in 2025, we plan to prepare for European safety certification (CE) and US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval," adding, "This patent application further strengthens the foundation for entering the global market."

Meanwhile, Easy Medi Bot plans to expand its medical robot portfolio with brain surgery robots and skull base robots in 2026, followed by cardiovascular robots in 2028, after U-BOT.
