Building Educational Infrastructure for the 4th Industrial Revolution and Operating Programs to Support Startups and Employment
Utilizing Advanced Equipment Such as 3D Printers, Laser Cutters, and UV Printers
Nowon-gu (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) announced that it will foster 4th industrial revolution-type talents centered on 'Nowon Makers One.'
Nowon Makers One is a Nowon-type job creation platform that started in 2018 as a job creation contest project. It discovers 'makers' who realize ideas through various advanced equipment and education, trains them to be immediately deployed in the field, and introduces the concept of lifelong support to continuously monitor them.
Nowon Makers One provides systematic educational programs such as ▲essential equipment training using advanced devices like 3D printers, laser cutters, and UV printers, ▲software education using 3D modeling programs like Fusion360 and Z-Brush, and ▲Maker Academy to build practical skills.
These programs focus on helping participants learn equipment and software and cultivate the ability to apply them immediately in practice. This is to assist makers in entering the actual market based on creativity and technical skills.
From this year, the maker programs will be expanded. In particular, essential equipment training will increase from 9 sessions to 18 sessions, and popular trainings such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and UV flatbed printers will be held once every two months. The number of lectures will be flexibly expanded according to the increasing demand in the future.
At the end of the year, a regional maker alliance idea contest will be promoted for participants including graduates of Makers One education, resident companies, local universities, and related organizations. The contest aims to share the business achievements of the year and support strong networking among participants, and teams with excellent results will receive various follow-up supports such as startup assistance.
The specific education schedule varies by program, and anyone interested in Nowon-gu residents, including adults wishing to find or start a job and elementary, middle, and high school students, can participate free of charge. For more details, please check the Nowon Makers One website and SNS channels.
The district is also working on job linkage and platform establishment by utilizing Nowon’s local cultural festivals such as the ‘Job Fair’ and ‘Youth Future Science Festival’ to exhibit and develop sales channels for Makers One products.
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, said, “At the Nowon-type makerspace 'Nowon Makers One,' any Nowon resident can realize their ideas,” and added, “I hope Nowon Makers One will establish itself as an educational place fostering 4th industrial revolution-type talents and become a place for job creation such as startups and employment.”
