Town Hall Meeting Held at Indian Subsidiary
Jose Munoz, CEO of Hyundai Motor Company, visited India and emphasized that the Indian market will play a crucial role in the production and sales of electric vehicles.
On the 4th (local time), Munoz held his first town hall meeting with local employees at Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), Hyundai's Indian subsidiary located in Gurgaon, Haryana.
During this visit, he stressed continuous support for HMIL and focused on discussing Hyundai's strategic goals and corporate culture development. He shared Hyundai's global vision and growth strategy for India with employees and engaged in direct communication.

Munoz stated, "HMIL is the second-largest complete vehicle manufacturer in India, and India is Hyundai's third-largest market globally. HMIL has established itself as a world-class automobile manufacturing and export hub and plays a key role in Hyundai's global vision."
He added, "Last year's IPO of HMIL played an important role in Hyundai's investment in new product development and production expansion in India. Next year, marking the 30th anniversary of HMIL's establishment will be an opportunity to further strengthen Hyundai's brand, and HMIL will set new records and standards."
Munoz emphasized the importance of HMIL's role in achieving the global electric vehicle sales target of 2 million units by 2030. He announced plans for HMIL to strengthen its electric vehicle (EV) portfolio in India.
He said, "HMIL is dedicated to more easily accessing the needs of Indian consumers and producing suitable electric vehicles. This aligns with India's direction toward eco-friendly mobility solutions, and India will play a significant role in Hyundai achieving this milestone."

Hyundai plans to secure an annual production capacity of 1 million units in India. Currently, it operates the Chennai plant with a capacity of 824,000 units and is building a new manufacturing facility with an annual capacity of 200,000 units at the Talegaon Plant 3, acquired from General Motors (GM) in 2023.
Munoz expressed, "This manufacturing facility will not only help meet domestic demand but also contribute to establishing a global manufacturing hub."
