Minjoo, 4050 Special Committee Launch Ceremony... "Expect to Serve as a Bridge Between Generations... Please Lead the Policy"

Park Chan-dae: "Devoted to Restoring a Disrupted South Korea"

The Democratic Party of Korea announced on the 5th that it held the launch ceremony for the '4050 Standing Special Committee' ahead of the early presidential election. The committee plans to connect the younger and older generations and focus on discovering key party policies.

Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party, delivered a written congratulatory message at the launch ceremony held at the party's central office in Yeouido, Seoul, in the afternoon. He said, "As social and economic environments rapidly change, the challenges and tasks faced by all generations are growing day by day," and requested, "I ask the 4050 Standing Special Committee to strengthen intergenerational cooperation and lead substantive policy discussions for integration."

Park Chan-dae, floor leader, also emphasized in his congratulatory speech at the launch ceremony, "We must do our best until the Constitutional Court issues a ruling on the president's dismissal, until the presidential election schedule is announced, and even after the election takes place," adding, "Even if we come to power, dedication is needed to restore everything in South Korea that has been disrupted and damaged."

The 4050 Standing Special Committee plans for the middle-aged generation, which is the core support base of the Democratic Party, to mainly serve as a bridge between the party's younger and older generations. It will also play a role in nurturing and discovering young politicians and in policy development.

Kim Jun-hyuk, chairman of the 4050 Standing Special Committee, emphasized, "We expect the 40s and 50s, the central generation for South Korea's development, to join forces and act as a bridge between generations," adding, "We will expand the party organization into a capable body and contribute to the re-creation of the administration."

About 100 people, including party leadership and members, attended the launch ceremony. More than 10 members of the National Assembly, including former special committee chairman and former lawmaker Lim Jong-sung, also celebrated the launch ceremony.
