Joint Campaign with Student Council and Korean Red Cross
Gyeongsang National University announced on the 6th that it will conduct a blood donation campaign for enrolled students in collaboration with the Korean Red Cross Gyeongnam Blood Center and the Gyeongsang National University Student Central Autonomous Organization (Student Council).
Gyeongsang National University will conduct a blood donation campaign targeting enrolled students on each campus from March 4 to 7, in collaboration with the Korean Red Cross Gyeongnam Blood Center and the Gyeongsang National University Student Central Autonomous Organization. According to the Gyeongsang National University Student Affairs Office, this campaign will begin at the Gajwa Campus (April 4-7) to coincide with the start of the first semester, aiming to promote volunteer spirit and sharing among students. It will then continue at the Chilam Campus (April 6-7) and the Tongyeong Campus (April 12-13), taking place next to each campus library.
The Gyeongsang National University Student Council will set up a separate booth near the blood donation bus to encourage active participation from students and provide an opportunity to contribute to the local community through blood donation. Park Han-se, the Student Council President, said, “We are pleased that the 2025 Student Council has started an initiative to contribute to society with the beginning of the first semester, and we hope that other student events will also be successfully prepared.”
The Gyeongnam Blood Center reported that 1,323 Gyeongsang National University students participated in group blood donations in 2024, compared to 964 students in 2023. The center plans to promote similar events at other universities in the Gyeongnam region based on this campaign.
Ha Jae-pil, Director of the Student Affairs Office, expressed gratitude that Gyeongsang National University students can contribute to the local community through participation in the campaign and blood donation, hoping it will help alleviate the local blood supply shortage even slightly.
Meanwhile, Gyeongsang National University plans to strengthen ties with the local community through various social contribution activities beyond the blood donation campaign, and to foster students’ character development and volunteer spirit.
