The First Regular Board Meeting of 2025 Held
Since obtaining national accreditation as a testing institution from the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS) under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's Technology Standards Institute in May 2013, the Geochang Granite Research Center was designated in May 2023 by the Public Procurement Service as a specialized inspection agency for delivery inspection to manage the quality of procured goods.
The Geochang Granite Research Center Foundation announced on the 5th that it held the first regular board meeting of 2025 at the county office situation room.
At the board meeting, five major agenda items were reviewed and resolved, including the 2024 business settlement, the 2025 business budget, amendments to regulation management rules, appointment of executives, and the 2025 safety and health management plan.
In addition, the center’s achievements were reviewed and in-depth discussions were held regarding future development directions.
Center Director Choi Tae-hwan stated, “In 2025, to enhance the recognition and competitiveness of the Geochang stone industry, we will promote various publicity projects such as producing a three-dimensional guidebook for Geochang granite, supporting the creation of corporate websites, and producing and distributing stone (rock) educational materials to accelerate the revitalization of the stone industry.”
Chairman Goo In-mo urged, “For the continuous growth and development of the stone industry, the research center should play a central role and actively work to improve awareness of the stone industry and expand the market.”
Meanwhile, the Geochang Granite Research Center, as the only specialized stone research and testing institution in Korea, is further specializing in testing and inspection fields and growing into the nation’s top stone specialized institution.
