On Wednesday the 5th, the whole country will be mostly cloudy with snow or rain in some areas.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 4th, very heavy snow is forecast mainly in the Gangwon mountain area and the East Coast on the 5th. In particular, strong and wet snow is expected to fall at a rate of 1 to 3 cm per hour during the morning.
The expected snowfall amounts are △Gangwon mountain area 10-25 cm △Gangwon East Coast 3-10 cm △Chungcheong region around 1 cm △Gyeongsang region 1-10 cm △Jeju mountain area 1-5 cm.
Also, strong winds are expected in most parts of the country on the 5th. During the early morning, temperatures will drop below freezing mainly in the central region, eastern Jeonbuk, and northern inland Gyeongbuk, causing icy roads and black ice in some places.
Although the whole country will be mostly cloudy, the Seoul metropolitan area, Yeongseo region of Gangwon, and Chungcheong region are expected to gradually clear up from night.
Temperatures will be similar to the average for this time of year (lowest -4 to 4 degrees Celsius, highest 7 to 12 degrees Celsius). The morning low temperatures by region are forecast as △Seoul 0°C △Incheon 0°C △Chuncheon -2°C △Gangneung 2°C △Daejeon 4°C △Daegu 3°C △Jeonju 2°C △Gwangju 2°C △Busan 5°C △Jeju 7°C.
The daytime high temperatures are expected to be △Seoul 9°C △Incheon 8°C △Chuncheon 8°C △Gangneung 5°C △Daejeon 10°C △Daegu 10°C △Jeonju 10°C △Gwangju 10°C △Busan 10°C △Jeju 9°C.
