Seosan City in South Chungcheong Province announced on the 4th that it has published a booklet titled "Smiling Children, Happy Parents, Seosan City is with You," which contains policies on pregnancy, childbirth, childcare, education, and youth.
The booklet includes 108 projects across 11 fields such as pregnancy, childbirth, childcare, multi-child and adoption, relocation and returning to farming, education, youth participation and rights, youth employment, youth housing and welfare, youth leisure and culture, and related facilities.
The city has allocated a budget of approximately 86.4 billion KRW, an increase of about 9.2 billion KRW compared to last year, and plans to actively promote projects in each field.
In the field of pregnancy, the city will implement 15 projects including pregnancy congratulatory payments, pre-pregnancy health management, premarital checkups for engaged couples, Dodamdodam prenatal education classes, and medical expense support for high-risk pregnant women.
For childbirth, the city provides newborn birth support payments and, through 15 projects such as the First Meeting Voucher, childbirth supplies exchange voucher, and postpartum care expenses for families, celebrates the birth of children and supports mothers' recovery.
In childcare, the city will carry out 14 projects including childcare expenses for the second child and beyond, child care support programs, and Dream Start support for children from vulnerable groups, aiming to ensure seamless child care.
In education, 20 projects will be implemented, including career fairs, support for elementary school students' learning supplies, domestic and international historical and cultural tours for middle school students, and uniform support for new high school students.
Additionally, to improve the living conditions for youth in terms of employment, housing, welfare, leisure, and culture, 24 projects have been prepared, such as the Youth Challenge Support Project, Military Service Youth Accident Insurance, and surveys on isolated and reclusive youth and youth caring for family members.
Furthermore, the city plans to promote 8 projects to support multi-child and adoptive families, and 4 projects for households relocating or returning to farming.
The main contents of each policy, application methods, and contact information for the responsible departments are included in the booklet for easy reference.
The city plans to distribute the booklet sequentially in March to administrative welfare centers in towns and districts, health centers, Seosan City Family Center, Together Care Center, Childcare Support Center, obstetrics and gynecology clinics, and other related institutions and facilities.
It can also be found on the Seosan City website's Welfare Portal under the Children and Youth - Child Welfare Policies - Childbirth/Multi-child Support - Resources menu.
Mayor Lee Wanseop said, "This booklet comprehensively presents Seosan City's policies for creating a child-friendly environment," adding, "We will continue to develop and implement policies in various fields to enhance the convenience of our citizens."
