Gyeonggi Office of Education to Recruit 272 New Public Officials This Year

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will recruit 272 new local government officials this year.


The Office announced on the 4th that it will select a total of 272 people, including 19 for the career competitive recruitment exam (Grade 8), 241 for the 2nd open competitive recruitment exam (Grade 9), 3 for the 3rd Commercial High School Outstanding Talent Trainee Recruitment Exam (Grade 9), and 9 for the 4th Technical High School Career Competitive Recruitment Exam (Grade 9).


First, the 2nd open competitive recruitment exam includes 199 for educational administration (172 general, 21 disabled, 6 low-income), 5 for computer science, 12 for librarians, 4 for engineering (general electricity), 5 for food hygiene, 15 for facilities (3 general civil engineering, 12 architecture), and 1 for records research (researcher).


Application submission is from April 14 to 18. The written exam will be held on June 21, and the final successful candidates will be announced on September 5.


The 3rd Commercial High School Outstanding Talent Trainee Recruitment Exam, first implemented last year, selects 3 candidates who have completed related specialized subjects and required courses, and have been recommended by their school principals, targeting graduates (or expected graduates) of commercial high schools (including general high schools with related departments).


Application submission for the trainee recruitment exam is from July 28 to August 1. The written exam is on August 30, and the final successful candidates will be announced on December 17.

The final successful candidates will undergo a six-month probation period in the first half of next year and will be appointed as Grade 9 educational administration officials.


The 4th Technical High School Career Competitive Recruitment Exam targets graduates (or expected graduates) of technical high schools in the province who have been recommended by their school principals, selecting a total of 9 people: 2 for engineering (general electricity) and 7 for facilities (1 general civil engineering, 6 architecture).


Application submission for this exam is from August 25 to 29, with the written exam on November 1. The final successful candidates will be announced on December 17.


The Ministry of Personnel Management will change the test focus for Korean and English subjects from knowledge memorization to job competency starting this year. Accordingly, the exam time for the Grade 9 open competitive recruitment exam and the outstanding talent trainee recruitment exam, which include Korean and English subjects, will be extended by 10 minutes each, from 100 minutes to 110 minutes and from 60 minutes to 70 minutes, respectively. However, the test time for the records research category remains 100 minutes.


Meanwhile, applications must be submitted during the designated periods for each exam through the Office of Education's educational administration information system NEIS (National Education Information System) teacher online recruitment system (edurecruit.go.kr).
