Gongju City, Chungnam Province, announced on the 4th that it has provided 100,000 won in heating cost support to 4,000 households receiving basic livelihood security, using the Chungnam Province Disaster Relief Fund.
The recipients are those receiving basic livelihood security (livelihood, medical, housing, education) who resided in the city as of January this year.
The city took into account the difficulties faced by vulnerable groups due to the prolonged cold wave this year.
Mayor Choi Woncheol said, "This winter has been particularly harsh, and I hope this support has provided some help to vulnerable groups experiencing economic hardship," adding, "We will continue to do our best to strengthen the community safety net and alleviate the difficulties of vulnerable groups."
