Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province (Governor Kim Jin-tae) announced on the 4th that the Gangwon Cultural Foundation (CEO Shin Hyun-sang) will conduct the second integrated public offering for the 2025 Gangwon Cultural Arts Education Support Project from the 5th, aimed at discovering cultural arts education hub spaces within Gangwon Province and strengthening Gangwon-style cultural arts education capabilities.

The second integrated public offering is worth 250 million KRW and includes △Support for Establishing a Foundation for Cultural Arts Education (up to 20 million KRW) and △Didimdol Cultural Arts School (1 million KRW for new organizations, up to 12 million KRW for continuous organizations).

The Support for Establishing a Foundation for Cultural Arts Education project previously only conducted general public offerings supporting private organizations with existing infrastructure and spaces within Gangwon Province. However, starting this year, a matching support type has been newly established to support cooperation between high-quality cultural arts education spaces and excellent private organizations.

For the matching support, after recruiting participating infrastructure, organizations that will operate programs in April to May will be publicly recruited and finally selected. Additionally, this project prioritizes support for vulnerable areas to revitalize cultural arts education within Gangwon Province. Selected organizations and facilities will plan and operate community-based cultural arts education programs centered on living area spaces.

The Didimdol Cultural Arts School targets cultural arts education organizations within Gangwon Province that have been established for five years or less, providing opportunities for capacity building and project operation through workshops, education, and expert consulting. This is a two-year support project, and for organizations selected in the previous year, continuation of support will be determined through performance evaluation.

The application period is from March 21 to 27, and applications can be submitted through the Botam-e website of the Local Subsidy Management System. Additionally, on the 10th and 11th, the Gangwon Cultural Foundation will operate consultation booths for each project over two days. Reservations for consultations and detailed information can be found on the Gangwon Cultural Foundation website or the Gangwon Cultural Arts Education Support Center website.

Shin Hyun-sang, CEO of the Gangwon Cultural Foundation, stated, “The role of the Gangwon Cultural Arts Education Center is important to realize the ‘Improvement of Cultural Accessibility for Residents and Creation of Tangible Cultural Spaces,’ one of the five core strategies of the 2025 provincial administration.” He added, “Through the support projects, we hope to discover excellent cultural arts education organizations and institutions within the province to greatly help improve residents’ cultural life and bring about changes in their lives.”

Meanwhile, in April and May, public offerings for △Sanbada Lab, a support project for Gangwon cultural arts education research groups, and △Development support for regionally specialized cultural arts education programs are scheduled to be conducted.
