Minju Criticizes Ruling Party for Preventing Park: "Regrettable Situation Awareness... Regression to Lee Myung-bak and Geun-hye Party"

"Only Messages for Hardcore Supporters...
Will Be Rejected by the Public"

The Democratic Party of Korea criticized the meeting between former President Park Geun-hye and the leadership of the People Power Party, stating, "It seems that the impeached former president has no regard for the majority of the people suffering from the internal conflict."

Kim Seong-hoe, spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Korea, pointed out in a written briefing on the 3rd, "It appears that they went to seek advice from the former president who was impeached due to state affairs manipulation ahead of Yoon Seok-yeol's impeachment ruling, but the response was nothing more than a predictable message to the hardcore supporters, telling the People Power Party to unite."

Spokesperson Kim said, "It is said that the People Power Party leadership responded to former President Park's inquiry about Yoon Seok-yeol's condition by saying, 'He seems to be handling it well,'" and criticized, "It is appalling that Yoon's side, which is inciting riotous forces, is considered to be responding well."

Kim added, "The People Power Party leadership also met with former President Lee Myung-bak last week," and remarked, "It is laughable to see a party that calls for the dismissal of impeachment now rallying its supporters and preparing for the presidential election as the impeachment ruling approaches."

He continued, "Both individuals were convicted in criminal trials and do not even receive the courtesy accorded to former presidents; they are 'failed presidents' produced by the People Power Party," emphasizing, "If the People Power Party's only idea is to revert to the 'Lee Myung-bak-Park Geun-hye party,' it will be thoroughly shunned by the public."
