Jeonnam Province Urges Online Application for Forestry Direct Payment

Jeollanam-do announced on the 3rd that applications for the 2025 Forestry and Forest Public Direct Payment (hereinafter referred to as Forestry Direct Payment) will be accepted online starting in March, one month earlier than last year, to ensure early disbursement.

Now in its fourth year, the Forestry Direct Payment system is a policy that provides direct payments to eligible foresters who produce forest products such as walnuts and chestnuts, plant or cultivate trees in designated forest lands, and meet certain qualifications, in order to enhance the public benefits of forestry and stabilize the income of foresters.

To receive the Forestry Direct Payment, a forester must have actually engaged in forestry activities such as forest product production or tree cultivation in forest lands registered as forestry management entities between April 1, 2019, and September 30, 2022.

Applicants must also meet requirements such as having a total comprehensive income of less than 37 million KRW, completing required education, and maintaining a work log.

Applications can be submitted online throughout March, and from April, applicants may visit the administrative welfare center of the township or neighborhood where the forest land is located to submit the registration form and required documents.

Once the application for the Forestry Direct Payment is complete, eligibility will be verified, and recipients will be confirmed in August. After income verification and compliance checks, payments are scheduled to be made around October.
