First Meeting on March 6... About Two Months Until the End of April
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will hold a series of meetings every Thursday for two months to introduce arts policies and gather opinions from the arts community.
On the 3rd, the Ministry announced that from March 6 to April 24, every Thursday, it will hold "Arts Policy Stories at 3 PM" at the Modoomi Art Space Seminar Room (5th floor, Annex Building, Seoul Square, Jung-gu, Seoul). It explained that "Arts Policy Stories at 3 PM" will deeply introduce arts policies promoted by the Ministry by topic and broadly collect opinions from the arts field.
The topic for the first meeting on March 6 will be "Establishment and Operation Plan of the Artists' Mutual Aid Association." Minister Yoo In-chon plans to visit the first meeting to discuss with participants the establishment of the Artists' Mutual Aid Association and ways to activate artist-centered self-reliant welfare.
In the following seven meetings, topics such as ▲ Creation of a Performing Arts Belt in downtown Seoul ▲ Installation of a Public Art Bank ▲ Improvement Plans for Arts Support Systems ▲ Arts in the Age of Artificial Intelligence (AI) ▲ Basic Plan for Performing Arts Promotion ▲ Basic Plan for Visual Arts Promotion ▲ Basic Plan for Gugak (Korean Traditional Music) Promotion will be discussed.
"Arts Policy Stories at 3 PM" will be held once a week from 3 PM to 5 PM for about two months starting March 6. Those who wish to participate can apply from the 4th on the Ministry's website. Detailed information such as application methods will be announced in advance on the Ministry's website for each session.
Minister Yoo In-chon stated, "This event was planned to share the concerns of policy makers for the leap of pure arts and innovation in the arts community with the field, and to reflect vivid stories from the field in policies. We look forward to the participation of many people interested in arts policies."
