Jeollanam-do is implementing the Agro-food Voucher Support Project to address nutritional imbalances among vulnerable groups and to expand the foundation for sustainable agro-food consumption.

The Agro-food Voucher Support Project is a system that provides vouchers (cards) for purchasing fresh agricultural products to households receiving livelihood benefits with a median income of 32% or less, including pregnant women, infants, and children under the age of 18.

Until last year, Jeollanam-do operated the project on a trial basis in five counties: Gokseong, Gangjin, Haenam, Yeonggwang, and Jangseong. Starting this year, the support will be expanded to all 22 cities and counties.

The support period is 10 months, from March to December, and applications can be submitted by visiting the local administrative welfare center according to the applicant's resident registration address, or online and by phone.

The support amount varies depending on the number of household members, with 40,000 KRW per month for single-person households and 100,000 KRW per month for four-person households. Support starts from the month of application.

The issued agro-food voucher card can be used to purchase seven designated items, including domestically produced vegetables, fruits, meat, and fresh eggs, at designated offline stores such as large supermarkets and local food stores, as well as online stores such as Nonghyup Mall and Namdo Marketplace.

Details on where the vouchers can be used will be provided through the Agro-food Voucher website within this month.

Park Sangmi, head of the Agro-food Distribution Division of Jeollanam-do, said, "We will support vulnerable groups in improving their nutrition by consuming fresh agro-food products, and further expand the foundation for continuous agro-food consumption."
