The new Dongmun 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center in Seosan-si, Chungnam, has completed construction and officially opened.
At the opening ceremony, over 200 people attended, including Lee Wan-seop, Mayor of Seosan, Cho Dong-sik, Chairman of the Seosan City Council, as well as heads of institutions and social organizations.
The previous Dongmun 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center building, constructed in 1992, had become outdated and cramped, leading residents to request the construction of a new facility.
To provide better frontline administrative services, the city began constructing the new center at 470-1 Dongmun 1-dong in 2023, and completed the project at the end of last year.
The new Dongmun 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center has a land area of 8,718 square meters and a total floor area of 2,548.9 square meters, with one basement floor and three above-ground floors. The first floor includes a civil service office, counseling room, and nursing room.
The second floor houses the office of the dong chief, a small meeting room, a medium meeting room, and Resident Autonomy Education Room 1. The third floor features a large meeting room, Resident Autonomy Education Rooms 2 and 3.
Dongmun 1-dong began operations in the new building on December 16 last year, and has established 10 new resident autonomy programs, operating a total of 13 classes.
Mayor Lee Wan-seop stated, "Going forward, the new Dongmun 1-dong center will not only enhance residents' quality of life, health, and convenience, and provide better administrative services, but also become a central space where welfare and culture come together."
Meanwhile, the Dongbu Health Life Support Center is located next to the new Dongmun 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center, allowing residents to conveniently access both civil service and health consultation services.
