Damyang County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 28th that it held a "Life Sharing Blood Donation Event" on the 27th to ensure a stable blood supply for medical sites facing difficulties due to a sharp decline in blood donors.

A total of 112 participants, including county office officials, Damyang Fire Station, Damyang Office of Education, Hyerim Welfare Center, Damyang Sarang Hospital, and local residents, took part in the event to practice life sharing.

A county official stated, "Many people voluntarily participated in blood donation during this difficult time, which greatly helped stabilize the blood supply," and added, "We ask for continued interest and active participation in saving precious lives in the future."

Meanwhile, Damyang County is taking the lead in spreading the culture of blood donation and fulfilling social responsibility by regularly holding "Love Blood Donation Campaigns" twice a year in cooperation with the Gwangju-Jeonnam Blood Center of the Korean Red Cross. The county is also promoting the "Hope Sharing Practice Movement," which donates blood donation certificates to patients who require continuous transfusions, such as those with leukemia.

Residents who need blood donation certificates for transfusions can apply to the Medical Management Team at the Health Center and receive up to 20 certificates per person once a year.
