Yeongdeok-gun Supports 90% of Special Health Checkup Costs for Female Farmers for the First Time This Year

Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, will implement the ‘2025 Special Health Checkup for Women Farmers’ project starting this year to improve medical welfare for women farmers.

Any women farmers aged 51 to 70 who reside in Yeongdeok-gun and are registered as agricultural business operators can apply. This year, those born in odd-numbered years are eligible for the checkup, and next year, those born in even-numbered years will be the target.

The health checkup includes a total of 10 items across 5 areas: musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular system, fracture and injury risk, lung capacity, and pesticide poisoning. Participants can also receive consultations from specialists for early diagnosis, follow-up management, and preventive education related to agricultural work diseases.

The support covers 90% of the 220,000 KRW cost per person, amounting to 198,000 KRW, with the remaining 10%, 22,000 KRW, to be paid by the individual.

The health checkups will be conducted from March at the designated medical institution, Yeongdeok Asan Hospital. Eligible participants should coordinate with the hospital to make an appointment and visit accordingly.

County Governor Kim Gwang-yeol stated, “We will strive to provide prompt and systematic checkups so that women farmers can live healthy rural lives,” adding, “We hope this health checkup will help prevent agricultural work diseases early and enable appropriate treatment.”
