Taerim Packaging, which manufactures and distributes corrugated cardboard base paper and corrugated cardboard boxes, is showing a sharp rise. It is interpreted that investor sentiment is pouring in following the news that the company is developing military and industrial drones using corrugated cardboard.
As of 9:21 AM on the 28th, Taerim Packaging is trading at 2,485 KRW, up 300 KRW (13.7%) from the previous trading day.
The day before, Taerim Packaging signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Assetta, a specialized drone manufacturing and development company, at the ‘2025 Drone Show Korea,’ Asia’s largest drone exhibition held at BEXCO in Busan, agreeing to actively pursue the development of paper (corrugated cardboard) drones.
Through this agreement, Taerim Packaging will provide corrugated cardboard materials suitable for drone manufacturing, and Assetta will develop and produce corrugated cardboard drones. Drones made of corrugated cardboard have the advantages of being low-cost, capable of evading radar detection, and able to replace existing expensive target drones.
Taerim Packaging plans to actively pursue the domestic commercialization of corrugated cardboard drones based on the corrugated cardboard research, development, and production capabilities owned by the Taerim Group.
Since its establishment, Assetta has secured unique core technologies, including the development of hydrogen drones and the establishment of the country’s first mass production system for corrugated cardboard drones.
