Damyang County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 27th that it is recruiting new suppliers for return gifts as part of the Hometown Love Donation Program to foster a sound donation culture and revitalize the local economy.

Eligible applicants are businesses based in Damyang that can produce, manufacture, or supply items selected as return gifts. The recruitment fields include agricultural, livestock, and forestry products, processed foods, daily necessities, tourism, cultural, and service products utilizing Damyang’s local resources. Interested companies should prepare the required documents and visit the County Office’s Participation Communication Room between March 12 and 14 to apply.

After document submission, the county plans to finalize the suppliers through a deliberation by the Return Gift Selection Committee. The selected return gifts will be provided to donors through Gohyang Sarang e-eum (the Hometown Love Donation Program’s integrated information system). Detailed information can be found in the notice section of the Damyang County Office website.

A county official stated, “To expand the range of return gift options, we have selected 53 items from 71 suppliers over the past two years, providing return gifts worth about 1 billion KRW and driving a virtuous cycle in the local economy. We will continue to discover excellent local products to contribute to regional development.”

Meanwhile, the Hometown Love Donation Program allows individuals to donate up to 20 million KRW per year to local governments (metropolitan or basic) outside their place of residence. Donations up to 100,000 KRW are fully tax-deductible, and amounts above that receive a 16.5% tax credit. Return gifts are provided within 30% of the donation amount.
