Nine Democratic Party lawmakers, including Seo Young-kyo, Han Byung-do, Jeon Yong-gi, Kim Seung-won, Kim Ki-pyo, Song Jae-bong, Yang Bu-nam, Yeom Tae-young, Lee Sung-yoon, and Lee Yeon-hee, held a press conference at the National Investigation Headquarters of the National Police Agency on the same day, stating, "There is irrefutable evidence of Yoon Seok-yeol and Kim Geon-hee's voice recordings and election interference," and emphasized, "Myeong Taegyun's golden phone contains not only evidence of election interference but also suspicions of state affairs manipulation, illegal opinion poll manipulation, payment of opinion poll costs, and allegations of prosecutor Kim Sang-min's involvement in election interference."

They said, "Currently, six complaints related to major illegal suspicions involving Myeong and President Yoon's couple have been filed with the National Investigation Headquarters of the National Police Agency and the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency," and demanded, "The police should take the lead in investigating the Myeong Taegyun Gate case, which the prosecution has been delaying."

Lawmaker Seo criticized, "When President Yoon was a prosecutor, he investigated former President Park Geun-hye for interfering in elections and sought a three-year sentence. He must know how wrong it is for the presidential couple to interfere in elections. However, this time, the interference was deeper through Myeong."

Lawmaker Yang said, "The prosecution did not investigate Mrs. Kim despite having evidence for four months and seems to have no plans to do so in the future. The public is beyond disappointed and angry at the prosecution," and added, "The police must thoroughly investigate the Myeong Taegyun Gate and make it an opportunity to reaffirm the significance of the police. They should conduct a search and seizure of the presidential office and impose a travel ban on Mrs. Kim."

Earlier, on December 20 of last year, the Democratic Party filed complaints with the police against President Yoon and Mrs. Kim for violating the Public Official Election Act, Political Funds Act, obstruction of business under the Criminal Act, bribery, and pre-receipt of bribes related to Myeong's alleged state affairs interference. On January 8 of this year, they additionally filed complaints against President Yoon and Yoon Sang-hyun, a member of the People Power Party, for illegal election campaigning under the Public Official Election Act and obstruction of business under the Criminal Act.
