Naju City in Jeollanam-do will provide financial support for testing costs related to serious disease complications for patients with hypertension and diabetes starting this year.

The city announced on the 27th that it will provide a 50,000 won coupon to cover complication testing costs for 110 registered patients aged 30 or older with hypertension or diabetes, in cooperation with five private medical institutions.

This support is intended to help prevent and detect early the main complications of hypertension and diabetes, such as cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, kidney diseases, and cataracts, and to promote healthy lifestyle habits.

Eligible applicants are patients aged 30 or older with hypertension or diabetes who reside in the city and are registered as local residents. Applications can be made by visiting the public health center or branch clinics.

The city will distribute the testing coupons on a first-come, first-served basis, prioritizing medical benefit recipients, home-visit healthcare and chronic disease management program participants, and users of participating medical institutions. Recipients can receive free complication tests at any of the five designated medical institutions: Hangaram Internal Medicine, Central Internal Medicine, Sokpyeonhan Internal Medicine, Lee Sangkon Union Internal Medicine, and Aian Eye Clinic.

Kang Yonggon, head of the Naju Public Health Center, stated, "Hypertension and diabetes can lead to fatal complications if not managed properly, so consistent management and regular check-ups are essential. We will continue to implement various support programs to help citizens manage their own health."
