This ceremony was organized to encourage local government officials and regional organizers who have worked to expand cultural enjoyment opportunities for vulnerable groups in 2024. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism selected a total of 42 outstanding contributors to the Cultural Nuri Card project through a review of candidates recommended by local governments.

The honorees were selected based on achievements such as discovering Cultural Nuri Card non-beneficiaries, increasing usage rates, and improving convenience for socially disadvantaged groups including the elderly.

Lee Jisoo, an administrative officer at Bupyeong 4-dong Administrative Welfare Center in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, identified about 1,000 eligible individuals and issued Cultural Nuri Cards. Nam Minji, an administrative officer at Buk-gu Office in Gwangju, organized various cultural events such as kimchi-making experiences for vulnerable groups, contributing to Gwangju Metropolitan City achieving the highest Cultural Nuri Card usage rate nationwide. Kim Jiwon, a staff member at the Gyeongbuk Cultural Foundation, nearly doubled the number of affiliated stores while managing the Cultural Nuri Card.

Lee Jungwoo, Director of the Culture and Arts Policy Office at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated, “We express our gratitude to all those working hard across the country to ensure that every citizen can effectively use the Cultural Nuri Card,” and added, “The Ministry will continue to do its best to stabilize livelihoods in the cultural sector and strengthen welfare for the disadvantaged.”
