On the 26th, Kwon Youngse, interim leader of the People Power Party, stated, "Jeon Mankwon, the preliminary candidate running in the Asan mayoral by-election scheduled for April 2, is a native of the area and a lifelong public servant who has dedicated himself to the nation," adding, "He is the most qualified person for the development of the region."

Kwon emphasized this point during a meeting with female small business owners and youth held at Jeon’s campaign office on the same day.

He said, "Usually, there is some leeway between the end of an election and the start of a term, but by-elections are different," adding, "It is absolutely necessary for someone like Jeon, who is well-versed in administration, to be elected."

He continued, "Asan is the mecca of manufacturing, home to leading conglomerates such as Samsung and Hyundai," stressing, "In order to promote proper development with the entry of large corporations and their partner companies, a capable candidate must be elected."

He further said, "Just as it takes two hands to clap, cooperation with the central government and metropolitan governments is necessary for development," adding, "Governor Kim Taeheum of Chungnam is also paying great attention to Asan, so I believe that with Jeon's election, rapid development will follow."

Kim Youngseok, head of the Chungnam provincial party, also praised Jeon, saying, "Asan is simultaneously experiencing urban-rural conflict, super-aging, and industrialization," and "Jeon is truly a strategist who can redraw the blueprint and embrace a population of 400,000."

Jeon, in turn, requested Kwon's support for the early construction of a police hospital, attracting the second Central Police Academy to Asan, and designating Asan as a special balanced development city. He added, "Based on my experience as vice mayor of Cheonan and in central administration, I will form an emergency administrative response team from day one to ensure the smooth operation of city affairs without inconvenience to citizens."
