Jeon Jinsook, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea (representing Buk-gu Eul, Gwangju), will hold a policy forum at 1:30 PM on the 26th in the small conference room of the National Assembly Library, in cooperation with the Korea Medical Bio Journalists Association, under the theme "Super-Aged Society: What Is the Desirable Direction for National Essential Vaccination?"

As South Korea has entered a super-aged society, with over 20% of its population aged 65 and older, there is a growing need to improve health policies for the elderly. This policy forum aims to review the current status of national essential vaccination policies and propose effective vaccination management measures to contribute to public health promotion.

In the first session, Kim Changoh, professor of geriatric medicine at Severance Hospital, will present on "The Current Status and Importance of Infectious Disease Management Among the Elderly," Seo Jungyoon, PR director of the Korea Medical Bio Journalists Association, will discuss "Public Awareness of Vaccination," and Choi Wonseok, professor of infectious diseases at Korea University Ansan Hospital, will present on "Effective Policy Improvement Measures for Vaccination."

In the second session, Kim Gilwon, president of the Korea Medical Bio Journalists Association, will moderate a panel discussion with experts on the future policy direction of national essential vaccination. The discussion will include Kim Changoh, professor of geriatric medicine at Severance Hospital; Choi Wonseok, professor of infectious diseases at Korea University Ansan Hospital; Go Hansul, officer at the Division of Immunization Management, Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency; Kwon Sunmi, director of medical science at the Korea Medical Bio Journalists Association; and Woo Bohwan, former deputy secretary-general of the Korean Senior Citizens Association.

Representative Jeon emphasized, "The elderly are more vulnerable to infectious diseases due to weakened immunity and physical function. As South Korea has entered a super-aged society, it is time to consider elderly health policies focused on prevention and regular management." She added, "We will actively review the policies proposed at today's forum to establish effective national essential vaccination management policies necessary for the health of seniors."
