100 Companies to Be Selected Through Expert Evaluation
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 26th that it will recruit 100 outstanding small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small business owners to participate in the May Donghaeng Festival.
The Donghaeng Festival is a large-scale consumption promotion campaign held through cooperation among the government, local governments, and private companies to increase sales and promote the sales of SMEs and small business owners. Last May, the Donghaeng Festival achieved sales of 1.3 trillion won.
The application process will be conducted online through Panpandaero, as it was last year, and private experts such as merchandisers (MDs) will evaluate and select participants based on market and product competitiveness, price appropriateness, and value.
If selected as a Donghaeng company, various types of support can be received, including online and offline sales channel support and promotional assistance. Representative benefits include preferential participation in excellent product sales exhibitions hosted by local SME offices, entry into policy duty-free shops, participation in online sales planning exhibitions, and promotion on the official website.
Lee Dae-geon, Director of the Small Business Policy Bureau at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, “We will discover capable SMEs and small business owners to revitalize the difficult domestic economy,” and added, “We will strive to ensure that the May Donghaeng Festival can bring vitality to consumers nationwide and local small business owners.”
