[Kia EV Day] World’s First EV2·4 Unveiled "Completing Electrified Mass Production Lineup"

Kia unveiled its first electrified sedan model, the 'The Kia EV4,' and the compact 'EV2' concept for the first time in the world. Adding to the existing EV3, EV5, EV6, and EV9, Kia aims to complete its entire electrification lineup and present a new paradigm to the stagnant electric vehicle market.

On the 24th (local time), Song Ho-sung, CEO of Kia, stated at the '2025 Kia EV Day' held at the Tarragona Arena in Tarragona, Spain, "We have launched the EV5 and EV3 models, ready to guide more customers into the electric vehicle era through cutting-edge technology and Kia's unique customer experience."

The event, themed 'Turning the Tide of the Electrification Market,' was attended by about 500 people, including CEO Song, Karim Habib, Vice President of Global Design at Kia, Kim Sang-dae, Vice President of the PBV Business Division at Kia, Sudh Nipping, Executive Director and COO of Kia Europe, as well as overseas media representatives.

CEO Song emphasized, "As uncertainty increases in the global automotive industry, competitors are revising their electric vehicle strategies and sales plans. Kia is seeking ways to fulfill its promise to customers to become a provider of sustainable mobility solutions by changing market trends based on a firm belief in electrification."

The EV4 is a compact sedan that introduces a new type to the EV market, which has been centered on SUVs, symbolizing the direction of the next-generation electrified sedan Kia pursues.

The EV4 will be sold in two versions: a long-range model equipped with an 81.4kWh battery and a standard model with a 58.3kWh battery. Kia achieved the best aerodynamic performance among its vehicles with a drag coefficient of 0.23 by optimizing airflow around the wheels, including applying a wheel gap reducer and 17-inch aerodynamic wheels. This enables the longest driving range of 533 km on a single charge among Hyundai Motor Group's electric vehicles.

The combined energy efficiency of the standard and long-range models is the highest in Kia's EV lineup at 5.8 km/kWh. The long-range model takes about 31 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% using a 350kW-class charger based on Kia's own measurement standards. Kia plans to sell the EV4 in Korea and Europe this year and in North America next year. The hatchback model will be available only in Europe.

The price is around 37,000 euros (approximately 55 million KRW), with an annual sales target of 165,000 units, including 25,000 units domestically.

Additionally, Kia unveiled the overseas strategic compact SUV EV2 concept model. Although compact, it offers expandable space through a front trunk and folding/reclining second-row seats. When stationary, the front door can be opened to widen the bench-type front seats left and right. Kia aims to launch the production model in Europe next year. The price is around 30,000 USD (approximately 42 million KRW), with a sales target of 100,000 units.

Karim, the Vice President responsible for the design of the EV series, explained, "The EV4 offers an immersive experience different from a typical sedan. It is bold and features a design no one expected. The EV2 is the smallest model among Kia electric vehicles but has the strongest presence."

CEO Song added, "The electric vehicle market is currently moving from early adopters to the early majority. The EV4 and EV2 have achievable goals through product competitiveness and aggressive pricing."
