International Youth Robot Competition and Robot Startup Contest
The Chungnam Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency announced on the 24th that it has attracted an international robot competition to Cheonan.
On the 21st, the agency signed an agreement with the International Youth Robot Federation to promote the development of the robot industry and to connect with the Chungnam Year of Visit initiative.
According to the agreement, they plan to jointly host the 'World Robot Festa' in Cheonan this August, including the International Youth Robot Competition and a robot startup contest.
The International Youth Robot Competition, boasting a 12-year history, is expected to bring together around 800 participants from 17 countries to compete in technology. With the event coinciding with the Chungnam Year of Visit, an influx of domestic and international tourists is anticipated, which is also expected to have a positive impact on the local economy.
The agency plans to encourage the participation of technology-based startups by collaborating with the Green Startup Town near Cheonan Station through the robot startup contest. This will provide innovative companies with an opportunity to showcase their technologies and offer global networking opportunities by connecting them with experts and investors.
The exact schedule and venue have not yet been finalized. The agency is currently reviewing candidate sites focusing on spaces that have both auditoriums or gyms and accommodation facilities. Once preparations for the event are in full swing, the agency will announce more detailed plans.
Kim Gokmi, director of the agency, said, "With this agreement, Chungnam has laid the foundation to become a hub for the robot industry," and added, "Through the World Robot Festa, we will strengthen the capabilities of both the region and the agency, and lead tangible industrial development."
