A Time for Mutual Exchange

Miryang City in Gyeongnam announced on the 24th that the athlete delegation from its international sister city, Omihachiman City in Japan, visited Miryang for three days starting from the 22nd to participate in the 21st Miryang Arirang Marathon.


Five members, including the president of the Omihachiman City Athletics Association, participated in the Arirang Marathon. In addition to competing in the event, the delegation explored Miryang's historical and cultural tourist attractions such as the national treasure Yeongnamnu Pavilion, Miryang Arirang Space Observatory, and Yeolduddal, fostering mutual exchange.

Through participation in this event and visiting the attractions, both countries took the opportunity to activate sports and cultural exchanges and strengthen their friendly relations.


Minoru Oonishi, the head of the Omihachiman City delegation, stated, "This event allowed us to reflect on the long history shared between Miryang City and Omihachiman City and served as an opportunity to deepen our friendship with Miryang."


Yoon Jin-myung, Director of Administrative Support, said, "The participation of the Omihachiman City athlete delegation enhanced the prestige of the 21st Miryang Arirang Marathon. We will continue to strive to develop the friendly relationship between Miryang City and Omihachiman City through various exchanges."
