Sam Altman Married His Same-Sex Partner Last Year
Sam Altman (39), CEO of OpenAI and known as the "father of Chat GPT," announced the birth of his child. He is known to be married to his same-sex partner.
On the 22nd (local time), Altman CEO posted a photo of the newborn on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, "Welcome to the world, little friend!"

He said, "The baby was born earlier than expected and will be in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for a while," adding, "He is doing well, and taking care of him is truly wonderful. I have never felt this kind of love before."
Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft (MS), commented on the news of the birth, saying, "Congratulations sincerely," and "Becoming a parent is one of the most profound and rewarding experiences in life."
Altman CEO married Oliver Mulhern, an Australian software engineer and his long-time partner, in early 2024. The American media outlet Business Insider reported that Altman CEO held the wedding ceremony in Hawaii, USA. Although the exact date is unknown, photos presumed to be from the ceremony spread on social media.
Altman CEO did not provide specific details about how he came to have a son, such as whether it was through surrogacy or adoption. Currently, some states in the United States allow surrogacy births.
Last month, he appeared on a podcast and revealed that he would soon have a child, stating, "Future children will never know a world without AI (artificial intelligence) smarter than themselves."
Altman CEO’s same-sex partner first appeared publicly when accompanying him to a White House dinner in 2023.
