The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries announced on the 24th that it has appointed Kim Hyun-tae, former Director of Fisheries Policy at the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, as the 4th Director of the National Marine Biodiversity Institute of Korea.
Director Kim began his public service career in 1995 after passing the 39th Administrative Examination. He has held key positions including Director of Marine Environment Policy, Director of Shipping Policy, Director of Maritime Safety Bureau, Director of International Cooperation Policy, Director of Fisheries Policy, and Director of Fisheries Policy Office at the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.
The Ministry stated, "Based on his extensive experience and expertise across all areas of marine and fisheries affairs, we expect him to systematically carry out the collection, preservation, exhibition, and research of marine biological resources, as well as support their industrial utilization, ensuring the smooth progress of the National Marine Biodiversity Institute's current tasks."
Director Kim's term will last for three years, until February 23, 2028.
