Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jong-sik) conducted an integrity campaign on the 24th at the entrance of the education office building targeting employees on their way to work to prevent power abuse and promote a culture of mutual respect.
This campaign was organized to raise awareness of integrity within the organization and strengthen the will to practice it. About 20 staff members, including those from the audit department, warmly greeted employees arriving at work and distributed promotional materials on preventing power abuse. Through this, they aimed to foster a culture of integrity in public service and encourage active participation from employees.
Gyeongbuk Office of Education is conducting a campaign for employees on their way to work titled "Let's Respect Each Other Without Abuse of Power."
In particular, the campaign effectively conveyed its message by using placards with phrases such as “Subtract Power Abuse (-), Add Consideration (+)” and “Mutual Respect is the Answer, Power Abuse is No Answer,” along with leaflets created to prevent power abuse in the workplace.
In addition to this campaign, the Gyeongbuk Office of Education plans to implement various policies to create a healthy organizational culture, including a declaration ceremony to eradicate power abuse targeting senior officials, integrity leadership training, reverse mentoring for intergenerational empathy, a relay integrity message campaign by institution heads, and the operation of Communication and Empathy Days.
Superintendent Lim Jong-sik of Gyeongbuk Office of Education stated, “Through this campaign, I hope employees will once again recognize the importance of integrity and that a culture of mutual respect and consideration will be established within the organization.” He added, “We will continue to do our best to realize a corruption-free and integrity-driven Gyeongbuk education.”
Meanwhile, the Gyeongbuk Office of Education was the only one among the 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education nationwide to improve by two grades in the ‘2024 Public Institution Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation’ announced by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, achieving an overall integrity grade of 2.
