Strengthening Customized Support by Growth Stage
Enhancing Corporate Competitiveness
Gumi City in Gyeongbuk Province is completely overhauling its support system for the growth of local companies.
The city plans to enhance tailored support according to each growth stage to boost corporate competitiveness, moving away from the previous simple support methods. To this end, a total of 2 billion KRW will be invested, and related projects will be announced sequentially starting from the 24th.
From this year, the city will categorize companies into ▲small-scale companies ▲Huri companies (sales of 5 to 50 billion KRW) ▲leading companies (sales over 50 billion KRW), and introduce customized support measures optimized for each stage.
The plan is to accelerate growth through company-tailored programs and secure competitiveness in the global market.
The Gumi City Small and Medium Enterprise Comprehensive Solution Support Project operates in two ways: corporate growth theme support integrating technology, marketing, and export, and pinpoint support addressing individual company challenges. A total of 11 detailed programs are prepared to intensively nurture promising SMEs.
The 'Gumi Huri Company Growth Level-Up 1+1 Support Project,' introduced last year, will also continue. This project operates 15 detailed programs in four areas: strategy establishment, technological innovation, market expansion, and capacity building, matching companies with dedicated project managers (PMs) to support their growth into global strong SMEs.
Additionally, a new project this year, the 'Gumi Leading Company Development Support Project,' will be promoted. Targeting local small and medium-sized enterprises and mid-sized companies, it will operate seven detailed programs across three areas: ▲discovering new growth engines ▲responding to digital transformation (DX) ▲strengthening global capabilities, to help companies grow into world-class enterprises.
This project will begin with the Huri Company Support Project on the 24th, followed by announcements of the Comprehensive Solution Support Project and Leading Company Development Support Project on March 4th. Detailed information can be found on the Gumi City Corporate Support IT Portal and the Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Institute.
Kim Jang-ho, Mayor of Gumi City, stated, "This year, local industries are expected to face difficulties due to high exchange rates, economic recession, and trade disputes. We will drastically reform the corporate growth support system to actively respond to the rapidly changing industrial environment and further strengthen competitiveness in new regional industrial sectors."
