SKT to Unveil AI Data Center Technology and Governance Principles at MWC25...

SKT announced on the 23rd that it will participate in the world's largest mobile communications exhibition, 'Mobile World Congress 2025 (MWC25)', held in Barcelona, Spain on March 3rd, showcasing technologies related to artificial intelligence (AI) data centers.

SKT will demonstrate AI capabilities that can be practically applied in industries, including not only the core area of mobile communications that enhances telecommunication services and infrastructure with AI, but also recently spotlighted AI data center solutions, autonomous robot driving, and global video content localization support technologies. The AI governance principles introduced to ensure AI reliability and safety will also be shared with the telecommunications industry.

SKT will set up a large exhibition hall of 992㎡ (approximately 300 pyeong) in the center of Hall 3 at the MWC25 venue, 'Fira Gran Via'. Under the theme 'Innovative AI, Accelerating the Future', SKT and its partners will showcase their technological capabilities.

SKT is discovering AI data center (hereafter AI DC) technologies and building competitive business models through collaboration with SK Group member companies and global partners. AI DC refers to next-generation data centers that provide essential GPU servers for AI training and inference, power supply for stable operation, and cooling systems for thermal efficiency management.

SKT will exhibit technologies that procure power for AI DC operations from distributed power sources and optimally control it using AI models, various liquid cooling methods to reduce data center heat generation, and technologies that insulate energy storage systems (ESS) with liquid to enhance stability.

The exhibition also includes technologies for efficiently operating complex facilities, such as virtualization-based GPU resource management solutions and real-time data center infrastructure monitoring technologies using digital twin technology.

SKT will also showcase proactively developed AI DC security technology. 'AIDC SecureEdge' applies the zero-trust approach, known for its strong verification, comprehensively protecting everything from internal AI DC data to devices, applications, and personal information, blocking remote hacking attempts.

A space highlighting AI semiconductor technologies at the SK Group level has also been prepared. Advanced products such as SK Hynix's high-bandwidth memory HBM3E and high-performance SSD storage for data centers, SKC's glass substrates, and AI inference-specialized NPU technologies from Rebellion, in which SKT has made strategic investments, will be showcased.

Research achievements for the evolution of AI-based communication infrastructure will also be revealed. Plans will be presented on how communication networks can evolve to simultaneously implement communication services and AI inference.

Beyond technology introduction, a significant space has been allocated to announce the achievements of the self-developed AI governance principles, 'T.H.E. AI (by Telco, for Humanity, with Ethics AI)'. SKT has also obtained international standard certification for the 'AI Management System', jointly established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
