Arim Kim Sets Foundation for 2nd Win... Surges with 6-Under Par Performance

Tied for 8th in Honda LPGA Thailand 2nd Round

Opening round champion Kim Arim laid the foundation for her second win of the season.

On the 21st, at the Siam Country Club Pattaya Old Course (par 72, 6632 yards) in Chonburi, Thailand, during the second round of the LPGA Tour's 'Asian Swing' Honda LPGA Thailand (total prize money $1.7 million), she shot a 6-under-par 66, moving up from a tie for 33rd place the previous day to a tie for 8th place (7-under-par 137).


Kim Arim recorded eight birdies and two bogeys, with two consecutive birdies standing out. Although she was eight strokes behind the leader, with two days remaining, a comeback is definitely possible. Kim Arim won the opening event, the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, on the 2nd. She skipped the second event, the Founders Cup, and participated in this tournament.


Akiyo Iwai (Japan) maintained her lead for the second consecutive day (15-under-par 129). Angel Yin (USA) is in second place (13-under-par 131), while local players Gino Titi Kun and Moriya Jutanugarn (both from Thailand) are tied for third place (12-under-par 132).


Choi Hye-jin is tied for 8th, Lee So-mi is tied for 12th (6-under-par 138), and Yang Hee-young, Lim Jin-hee, Patty Tavatanakit, Ariya Jutanugarn (all from Thailand), and Noh Ye-rim (USA) are tied for 15th place (5-under-par 139). Ko Jin-young lost one stroke and slipped to a tie for 28th place (4-under-par 140).
