Lee Gyeong-je, a Korean medicine doctor and CEO of Raeoi Economy, donated 100 million won for the development of local healthcare, Gangneung Asan Hospital announced on the 21st. The donation ceremony was held that morning in the hospital director's office at Gangneung Asan Hospital.

Dr. Lee decided to donate to help hospitals and patients, empathizing with the difficulties faced by local hospitals due to conflicts between medical and political sectors, concentration of patients in the metropolitan area, and population decline in the region. He said, "Sharing becomes truly meaningful when it brings joy to each other," and added, "I hope this can be of some help to the residents of Gangwon Province and the hospital medical staff."

The hospital plans to use the donation as part of the transition project to a tertiary general hospital structure, aiming to strengthen capabilities in severe and emergency care and improve the medical environment. Yoo Chang-sik, director of Gangneung Asan Hospital, expressed, "We sincerely thank Dr. Lee for making such a meaningful decision amid the generally difficult circumstances faced by local hospitals," and stated, "We will fulfill our role as a central medical institution in the region."
