Product Safety Information Now Accessible Online via QR Code
Lotte Chilsung Beverage announced on the 21st that it will introduce the 'Real-time Food Information Confirmation Service (Food QR)' implemented by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety to products such as 'Milkis' and 'Saero'.
Food QR is a real-time food information confirmation service that allows consumers to check not only product safety information but also nutritional content and storage methods through a QR code. When consumers scan the QR code printed on the product with their smartphones, they can access a webpage containing nutritional labels, ingredient names, and safety precautions.
Lotte Chilsung Beverage introduced Food QR to efficiently deliver necessary food information when selecting food products. Consumers with impaired vision, such as the elderly, can enlarge small text food information on the webpage to improve readability. For visually and hearing-impaired individuals, summarized information is provided using avatar sign language videos, braille, and voice conversion apps.
Since this year, Lotte Chilsung Beverage has applied Food QR to products such as the carbonated beverage 'Milkis', sparkling water 'Trevi', and soju 'Saero'. They plan to sequentially expand Food QR to a total of 10 items, including the fruit juice beverage 'Epro Bujokhal Ttae' and beer 'Cloud Crush'.
A representative from Lotte Chilsung Beverage said, "By introducing Food QR, we can overcome the spatial limitations of product labels and provide various information with improved readability," adding, "We plan to actively utilize Food QR to conveniently provide product information."
